The 22nd convocation of North South University was held on March 06 at its own campus in Bashundhara Residential Area with amid enthusiasm and festivity. On behalf of Chancellor of the University President Abdul Hamid, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni presided over the ceremony. Nobel Laureate Sir Richard J Roberts delivered the convocation speech. MA Hashem, chairman of NSU Board of Trustees, and Vice Chancellor Prof Atiqul Islam also spoke on the occasion.
The graduating class of 2019 with a total of 3,486 graduates and postgraduate students is the largest group to have graduated from the university so far. Among them 589 students from ECE. This year, with their sheer diligence and hard work, two meritorious students took home the Chancellor’s Gold Medal award and nine others earned the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal award. Mohammad Abdul Hadi from ECE (CSE major) was one of the two gold medalists with CGPA 3.99. Members of the Board of Trustees, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Designate) Prof Dr. GU Ahsan, deans of different faculties and other senior officials were present on the occasion, among others.
