Despite being one of the most spoken languages of the world, it still being counted among the technologically inadvanced and under resourced languages. This study aims to build an automatic speech recognition engine for Bangla language. However, a short speech commands recognizer has been built which can recognise short Bangla commands with 74% accuracy. Moreover, efforts are ongoing in building a Bangla transcription system.
