ECG stands for Electrocardiography meaning visualization of the electrical signals of cardiovascular activity of the heart. It is a diagnostic tool that is routinely used to assess the electrical and muscular functions of the heart. It is a process of recording the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time using electrodes placed on a patient’s body.
These electrodes detect the tiny electrical changes on the skin that arise from the depolarization of this machine we can ensure the heart condition within a measurable time period. We also take some signals from the patient heart to determine our decision whether this is risky or not.
Finally we can see the result of this signal to compare with actual signal and result for the further steps. The Objective of our project is to build a low cost portable Electrocardiogram machine. This shall comprise of device probes which will feed the signal to an amplifying and filter circuit, which would then feed it to an analog to digital converter and finally display it on a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) using a microcontroller Or Computer Monitor.
This machine will help the deprived people of the remote area where there are rear hospitals, during emergencies and those in metropolis who do not have time to visit their doctors and wish to monitor their cardiac health.
