Scholarship Opportunities for Talented Problem Solvers

To promote programming contest NSU has taken the following commendable steps:

  1. Provide full / partial tuition fee waiver to new or transfer students who have outstanding performance in International Olympiad of Informatics (IOI) and ACM-ICPC Regional.
  2. Conduct weekly training session for senior and junior students separately. NSU hires top trainers of Bangladesh to train the programming students
  3. Provide necessary funding to participate different national level contests
  4. Organize intra NSU programming contest in every semester
  5. Provide funds for top teams to go abroad to participate in ACM-ICPC regional
  6. Send teams abroad for different training camps

Eligibility for Tuition Fee Waiver

  1. Participate in IOI and qualify for World Finals or Participate in ACM-ICPC Regional and secure top 10 position
  2. Participate in online programming competitions and having good ranking. The student should be among the top 25 percent of Bangladeshi contestants in at least one of the following competitive platforms: TopCoder, Codeforces and Codechef. The student should participate in at least 32 online competitions throughout the year or at least 8 competitions in every 3 months in the above platforms. The student should also solve at least 50 problems in renowned online judges like UVa, SPOJ or LightOJ in one year.
  3. Students must sit for admission test to qualify

Based on admission test result, previous programming experiences each application is judged and offered either full or partial tuition fee waiver. However to maintain the scholarship the student has to maintain at least 3.25 CGPA and finish 25 credits per year.
