Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, IEEE NSU Student Branch has organized Technovanza 2016 from 21st – 22nd of October at North South University. The event hosted 7 different competitions inclding Line Follower Robot Challenge, Poster Presentation, Project Showcase, Green Brain, Rubik’s Cube, Engineering Olympiad, Sumo Robot Fight and a Women Empowerment Session. For the Opening Ceremony IEEE President Elect 2016 and IEEE President 2017 – Karen Bartleson and Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering Committee- Takako Hashimoto congratulated the organizing committee for inaugural of WIE INSB through special video messages. The organizing committee along with the invited guests had launched the first WIE Magazine ‘PRODIGY’ from IEEE NSU SB WIE AG to commemorate Technovanza 2016.
The chief guest of this mega event was the VC of North South University- Prof. Atiqul Islam and the special guests were the Chairman of ECE Dept. of North South University- Dr. Rezaul Bari, IEEE R10 WIE Coordinator- Dr. Celia Shahnaz, Head of Business of Aamra Smart Solution- Mr. Sulaiman Shukhon, and the Maya App Team. Along with them, the Student Branch Advisor Tanjila Farah of WIE AG, ex WIE Counselor Dr. Lamia Iftekhar, the organizing committee, many other faculty members of NSU and 250+ participants from 12 different Universities were present.
The event ended successfully with the prize giving ceremony where special prize money, crests, along with certificates, were distributed to the Winners.
