Biography

Dr.-Ing. Nusrat Jahan Lisa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She received a joint Ph.D. in Computer Science from Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), Germany and Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark; M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from United International University (UIU), Dhaka, Bangladesh; and B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Dhaka, Bangladesh. She was a lecturer from October 2008 to September 2011 and later promoted to Assistant Professor from October 2011 to September 2016 in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Afterwards, She worked as a Research Associate at the Chair of Database Technology and Processor Design at Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), Germany, from October 2016 to December 2020. After finishing her Ph.D., she returned as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Dhaka, Bangladesh, from February 2021 to January 2022. Later, she worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Computing (IC), UNICAMP, from March 2022 to January 2024. Additionally, she worked as a Professor Doutor I, level MS-3.1, RDIDP, at the Faculty of Technology (FT) at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil from February 2024 to January 2025. Her research interests are: Co-design of hardware and software systems, reconfigurable/adaptive architectures, customized database accelerator system, quantum computing, deep learning.

  • In 2016, achieved the Erasmus Mundus Category “Partner Country” fellowship for the Joint Doctorate research project “Information Technologies for Business Intelligence – Doctoral College” (IT4BI-DC), TU Dresden, Dresden, Germany, and Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark (October 2016 – December 2020).
  • In 2022, achieved the FAPESP fellowship for Post-doctorate research project at UNICAMP, Campinas, Sao Paulo, Brazil (March 2022 – January 2024).
