Millions of people all over the world, sitting down for an hour, unified with the singular goal of learning to code. That’s the essence of the ‘Hour of Code’.
This isn’t an event for serious programmers, it welcomes everyone of all ages even if they haven’t coded even a day in your life.
We use so many things in our daily life that are created through programmings, such as the alarm app on our phones that wake us up in the morning and the messenger app we use to chat with our friends every day, but most of us don’t really have an idea of how they’re made.
Hour of Code(HOC) is a great opportunity to fix that. Join over 650 million people worldwide as they go through an hour-long course here on the very basic concepts of programming, accompanied by some instructors. These courses of HOC are designed to be taken by everyone, regardless of whether you’ve never seen a line of code in your life, or have already gotten your feet wet in the world of programming.
The aim of Hour of Code is to be fun and engaging. Its purpose is encouraging you to develop your ideas and boost your creativity. The success is reflected in broad participation throughout the world and the resulting increase in enrollment and participation seen in Computer Science courses at all grade levels.
NSU ACM Student Chapter is proud to announce that we will be hosting the ‘Hour of Code’ at North South University during the World Computer Science Education week(December 3 – December 9).
