Workshop on Basic Arduino & Home Automation

Date: 29th June, 2018
Day: Friday
Venue: SAC310, NSU
No. of Participants: About 10 (IEEE Members)

The Robotics and Automation Society, IEEE NSU Student Branch Chapter (IEEE NSU RAS SBC) organized a workshop on Basic Arduino & Home Automation on 29th June, 2018. A batch of enthusiastic IEEE members participated on the workshop. The workshop was conducted by three RAS members, Md. Tanzil Shahria, Soumic Shekhar & Pritom Saha.

The workshop was initiated after a brief introduction about RAS and its activities by Md. Tanzil Shahria, Chair, IEEE NSU RAS SBC. Then the basics of Arduino was covered by Soumic Shekhar, which gave the participants a clear insight about microcontrollers, Arduino structure and specifications, Arduino IDE and the library functions of Arduino. Pritom Saha familiarized the participants with Arduino codes, some basic components and sensors by showing the applications of LED, potentiometer, resistors. Md. Tanzil Shahria conducted the Home Automation session and trained the participants to build an “Automated Door System”. At the end of the workshop, all of the participants were able to successfully build the system on their own.
